Stress

Election exhaustion

I am exhausted. It's not just this lingering cold but also the constant rhetoric on social media about politics. The funny thing is, the more push back I receive on my beliefs, the stronger I hold them. All of this arguing isn't bridging the divide but just deepening the trenches.

Of course, I have trepidation about tomorrow's results and what that will do to our country as a whole but I am walking into that fear. When I allow it to be a part of the world that I live in, it seems more manageable. People are afraid of change...whether that change is a woman president or a unorthodox, lunatic president, that change is pushing all of their buttons.

One positive thing I am taking away from all of this is the importance of understanding history. Take a few minutes to research some past kings of England or czars of Russia and you will find all kinds of drama. Our country is still relatively young and this is our moment in time, but not time as a whole.

Happy Halloween!

I'm not a big Halloween person. Don't get me wrong, I love to party but the dressing up bit is always stressful for me. Fortunately, I have friends who treasure this holiday and consistently push me out of my comfort zone to participate. Thanks to them, I have so many happy and hilarious Halloween stories because of it.

I am facilitating a large event tomorrow and am anticipating a long, stressful day. It's Halloween though, so I'm dressing up in the costume of someone who can manage the stress. It may not be favorite thing, but here's hoping there is candy at the end!
