Sunday Funday

When I lived in Chicago, brunch was a big deal. Everyone did brunch regardless of how late they were out on Saturday night. There are always bloody marys and mimosas out on tables at 10am. It's starting to catch on a little more in Buffalo but I'm still on the fence. Waking up refreshed on a sunny Sunday morning makes me excited for the day. I want to get things done. I want an adventure.

So today instead of waffles and french toast, I'm opting for a banana and yogurt and headed out for a long walk with my dog.

I hope you do what you love this Sunday, too. Get it.

Happy Anniversary!

On this day in 2014, my Yes And Coaching, LLC became official with the State of New York. It's been a long three years with a lot of personal and professional ups and downs but I'm feeling strong this morning. I have a new niche I'm introducing to the brand and I'm seeing so many interesting pieces fall in line.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned (and it was said to me many times, in many different ways), is that building a business takes time. It's not an overnight activity despite how eager you are to put the work in. There are things things that must evolve as a process. You can't avoid them and yet they are the things that will be the most transformative.

Today, on this anniversary, I say thank you to all of the set backs and all of the no's because they have lead to me to where I needed to be; which is right here, right now.

You've got a friend in me...sometimes

I woke up thinking about an interview I saw with Brene Brown a few months back and stumbled across this article. Actually, it's like it found me.

An excerpt:
When we're looking for compassion, we need someone who is deeply rooted, is able to bend and, most of all, embraces us for our strengths and struggles. We need to honor our struggle by sharing it with someone who has earned the right to hear it. When we're looking for compassion, it's about connecting with the right person at the right time about the right issue

2am Inspiration

I'm going to be short today because inspiration hit me at 2am to help solve a problem I have been thinking about for weeks. At first, I wasn't going to wake up. I was just going to tell myself that I would remember in the morning, but you never remember in the morning. So I woke up - grabbed my phone and starting writing in the notes.

The inspiration was dead on with good solutions that I am excited to get working on. Unfortunately, I still have a day job and an early morning meeting, so I'm off to grab some coffee.

I can't wait to fill you in on the new project though. Good stuff!
