I'm not one to shy away from a challenge. I enjoying learning new things and being surrounded by people that can show me different world views. That said, I'm currently taking a class regarding public office and it is stretching me in unexpected ways. I have never had a passion to serve as a politician. I didn't grow up in a political family. I don't religiously read the newspapers or have opinions about specific local policies (national, yes, but only because of The Daily Show.) This isn't something I'm particularly proud or ashamed of. It's who I am and it's how I've lived my life...so far.

I must admit, it is inspiring to see people be so passionate about public service. I am meeting wonderful women who really are motivated to make change in their communities. I have no idea where that will take from here, but I am happy to have my grit tested.
